The Eternal Truth...

There are only 3 ways to write a blog... The Right Way, The Wrong Way and MY Way :-)

Programming Myself....

If you want something you never had, you must do something you never have done!!! - That's meee!!! can't be better:-)

bride from 21st Century!

A newly wed girl was being welcomed at the husband's home in a traditional manner.

She was asked to give a little speech. She addressed as follows:

"My dear family members, I thank you for welcoming me in my new home and family",

she said "Firstly, with my presence I would not want to create any inconveniences by my being here. I mean that I don't want you all to change your way of life, your routine."

"What do you mean my child?" asked the patriarch of the family.

What I mean dad is:

Those who used to wash dishes must carry on washing them.
Those who used to do the laundry must carry on doing it.
Those who cooked shouldn't stop on my account.
Those who used to clean should clean.

As for me, I am here just to control your son!

This is called bride from 21st Century!!!!

Important day!!!

Ok, here i am at that very important day in my life where i will get all the attention. I am sure after this, no one would bother much. We are all excited.. the bus will be here any moment.....

All relatives, friends have gathered for the travel. Mysore is only a couple of hours drive and then my new story will start. Its quite some days i last saw her. Sometimes i even forget how she looks. hoping that no body will utilize this and swap her....:-) After this the most important night for me begins:-) Wish me luck and blessings :-)

Tight clothes

This is fun, before i left for US, i had done all my purchases for wedding. Now i come back and try them out. They are all loose fit. Hmn... i know i lost a lot of weight. But now i am with large size dresses for my wedding.....

So i immediately call my tailor and tell him what a fix i am in. The tailor is a good old friend of mine and he assures of the fix, with constraints:-(. anyways he know what situation i am in and he has taken all my new clothes with my correct sizes and promised to return after alteration. Hope things go on well. One more issue to add to the already tense me:-(

Haladivida

Happy B'day Mommy !!!!Oh my gosh!!! i am getting real scared now. I guess this is the case for all arranged marriages.I wonder how much more pressurized it is with the girl. Just got to know from Mom that 5 ladies would bathe me today as a part of a ritual... What the f*^*!!!!! what do you mean????

I an't going to stand naked in front of 5 random ladies and bathe, forget them bathing me.. pls.. you would understand if you were a guy... how on earth do i maintain composure??? Guys speak up now... And they call this function Haladivida in our community. I am not trying to ridicule any traditional thing.. but could not these guys think of something sensible??? Why 5 random old ladies... why not 5 known models:-) alright just kidding... So as a part of this ritual, first i will be made to sit with only a one piece cloth. Lucky i get to decide where that piece of cloth will cover me - upper or lower. I would go with lower, else no one would be around;-). Then all the ladies would come around and apply chandan/halad all over me, from top to bottom ( i hope they massage me well )and then after all the applying, they would bathe me and scrub off all the halad that was applied... Man!!! this is gonna get interesting. And guess what, after this i am not supposed to step out of house!!!! yeah , you heard that right... if i have to step out , then its on wedding day:-) I am still waiting to check what's in store for me... Give it to me baby!!
Give it to me baby!!! aha aha

My marriage invitation

Main Cover && Inside Cover

Today’s beautiful moments are tomorrow’s memories….

Auspicious and happiest will be those moments when you heartily bless us as a newly married couple…..

Please join us and share our joy as we begin a new life together on Thursday, 29th November 2007 at Mysore and Thursday , 6th December in Bangalore.

The attached card carries all the other info :-)

Cheers,

Vinay

Due to paucity of time , i am unable to meet you and give the card in person, kindly treat this as personal invitation and make it to the occasion.

Marriage card

Just got back from SFO. More than anything it’s the excitement and the tension which controlled the entire travel. Now that I am back, I am running short of time for distributing the marriage invitation card…

Though the card was designed by me fiancée, but ultimately she lost her way as her parent decided to have it their wayL . Hope this does not become a lifetime actJ. Anyways my folks were alright with my design as it had a blend of both tradition and modernity. I am no design specialist, but tell you what I guess design runs through my blood;-) so I did not need special degrees to prove that;-) So here is the matter and description I designed. But I think what really took away its charm is the font I had initially used and the font that finally appeared on the card J .I had spent many sleepless nights and hours on phone( just an alibi) to have the correct matter, but did not turn out from what I expected. But all said and done , all’s well that end’s well. So now I am beginning to distribute the cards. Due to lack of time , I had already sent emails to all my friends. I hope everyone checks their email before the event and make it!!!! And for my blog readers , here is my invite

Transit at Hong Kong

Transit at Hong Kong, a bloody 9 hrs. This can get very painful if you desperately want to reach home and join the family in excitement. For info, Hong Kong International airport (HKIA) was called Chek Lap Kok Airport, due to the fact that it was built on the island of Chek Lap Kok by land reclamation, and also to distinguish it from the old Hong Kong Airport (Kai Tak)

HKIA operates 24/7 and in one of the busiest airport in the world. It has also got the world's best airport award as recently as this year. So there is no dearth of watching people and passing time. But mind you the pain point is in less than a week you are entering a milestone. The excitement coupled with tension forced me take the airport lounge coupon rather than choosing to visit Hong Kong, by taking a visitor visa. Maybe next time!!!! So i retired to the travelers lounge and its was very good. Unlimited food, unlimited drinks, Hot bath, Hi speed internet access and a good body massage if you want. I availed all of them except body massage :-). Did not want to enter into any scandals:-) you never know. So all day i sat browsing, clicking pics from my new canon poweshot A720 IS, viewing You tube videos, taking to pretty chinks and passing time, So here i am blogging my time until my flight for Bangkok arrives....
Ariel view of Hong kong airport , taken from Cathay pacific flight while landing ;-)

The baggage claim area pic was taken as panaromic stitch view assist feature of my new Canon A720 IS 8 Megapixel camera.

How dumb!!!

And that's the bay bridge... Friend looking dumbstruck..."WoW"... Does this bridge connect South america and north america ??" Duh!!! whatever. Dude you are in SFO!!!

I still can't believe that he is my replacement here, while i am on vacation. And the best part is i have 3 days to "train" him.Gimme a break!!! i am getting married , i am supposed to be in vacation mood, thanksgiving is round the corner.. and you want me to "train" him... Dude you must be joking.." You need to bring him up to your speed" hahahah nice joke.. how can i bring him up to my speed, he is nowhere close by to lend a hand... well my challenges never end....by the by whats the scope:-)

New announcement

Look to your right on screen :-) you can see an announcement...It's true..

I am getting married, so i just put together a website for that ( nah!!! to lazy to look for a domain , register and put up a page).. So an old trick i always loved i employed.. Its just that now you have more power on internet...Just go HERE and if you are tech savy, you will figure it out... Incase you don;t and are interested.. leave a comment and i will respond... so long amigo...

Thought for the life!!!

Handle every situation like a dog.If you can't eat it or hump it, Piss on it and walk away......

Jailbreaked

Its under 3 weeks that i bought my Ipod Touch.. and guess what i have managed to Jailbreak it...The springbboard is now full of some nice neat apps and games. Whats with indians and tech???

Yesterday night, i was Jailbreaking my Ipod and my BIL was like - "Dude you sure you wanna blow $ 300 out? " and i was "Chill, lets see what happens" but ofcourse all the time i had my heart in my hand.. Jailbroke sucessfully and today the blooper happened - I just downloaded few songs and was trying to sync it and in the process, since all my songs were in the external HDD, i just lost them on my Ipod.. I guess i need to get back home and reload it.. But for now i am a happy man.... nah, not becasuse i jailbroke it, its more so because i had my client looking at my ipod and i could see him begging to do the same for him... For all you know, we might even get the project :-)

Have mercy

Yesterday i had a presentation to make. Mind you the presentation was made by some one else in india and i had to demo it. Bad luck , Got hammered, ripped, rapped and was finally shot @ point blank, and all this even before the presenation started and the 1st slide was up.. Do i need to continue??? What the heck

All alarams raised and guess what, after a gruellsome 2 hrs of ripping me apart in flesh and bones, the guys come to offer condolence.. Do you beleive that??? Hardly... this is a strange whacky place...I guess only the tough like me can bring such reforms :-)

Pampering myself

Go ahead boy!!! pamper yourself. Take what you want , its's on meee!!!! WOW!!!, well then here is what i want - An IPod Touch, an eco-drive watch for which i will never have to add a battery, a palm PDA which has a WiFi, a good 8 meg camera which can support both an beginner and professional photographer, few nike/reebok shoes, some branded fleece jackets , few gold rings and hey how abt the laptop....

Sounds funny, eh!!, well no one quite offered me anything like that. But i will tell you what, i just pampered myself with all thoes thingss.. and sssh!!! not a word to anyone, coz if my mom knew i got all this for myself, she would kill me.. and now with the marriage around the corner - she will infact slow poison mee :-) But what the heck, whats life when u don;t have gadgets like this?.Hopefully, aftermath marriage, i will sit down somewhere and ruminate my pampers:-)Time of life... make hay when the sun shines.. you never know after marriage you would just end up buying stuff for wifey.

Somethings happenin

God I'm turning into this mushy thing,I despise myself!! and we are all imperfect reflections of the universe staring back at itself

Canon Powershot A720 IS

Steves Digicams - Canon Powershot A720 IS - Hands on Review

This is what i just bought over Amazon. They deliver quick and i clicked a few pics and i am impressed with the crystal clear pictures. Good take... I hope i just find someone who can take good pics on my D -Day. Like you always know.. not every Ferrari driver becomes Michael :-)

In Circles

I had an important presentation the other day. The kind of presentation that kinda decides what holds for you next.I am in this client place( read: tough client, with hell lot of expectations).....

and i had to demo my competency for the engagement to go on...I banked on my india team to help me with this. But the response was 0( they tried hard but coulc not deliver)and when the pressure mounts it just get the most creative beast outa mee.. Beats me, as to why i am not creative like this other times. Guess its got something to do with my hairstyle...well i pulled a ocean's 14 :-) and my guys are impressed. But what they heck, client is client ... he now has a new issue...

Impossible Feat

OK, Ok it may not be a really impossible feat, but then how many can say " U know what today, My height in cms i equal to my weight in Pounds"???If you not yet got the cue, then i can;t do much to an imbecile induhvidual like u... go JUMP....

Tossed up

Just when you think, you have control of your life and you are running the show, God normally POP's up to say "Hi There!!!"

Well, i had a smooth run, now it's been a crazy run....many things happened on both professional and personal life, which is like way to crazy to comprehend( or maybe its easy if you sit down and think). but the fact that it happend in such a frenzy is itself the force..Cutting things short - I am in San Francisco for an assignment and i am getting married in less than two months...I really don;t know - whether to fret or fume.. but one things for sure.. nothing can sure change this now.. so kinda accepted these facts gracefully and hope i pen in stuff atleast on a daily basis.

IPOD touch review

Too many gadgets for choosing. Too many reviews. So i thought i would give a review myself about my most recent possession - Apple IPOD touch - 8GB....

I had already owned an IPOD shuffle and i must say i was way impressed with it. So this new gadget only had a backing of a company that had impressed me with performance

Aesthetics
The device has a really nice form factor. I have small hands and it fits well in my hand. The iPod is a little thinner than I expected and also a little heavier.he back of the unit is very shiny. So much so that you can use it as a mirror. The downside of this shininess is that it gets light scuffs and scratches very easily. The front side is clean and smooth. Once on the screen is bright and looks great. Apple has really done a good job on designing a clean interface.

Features
Most people know what this thing can do vis-a-vis media. I didn’t even consider the calendar or contact features that are included. I haven’t done much with them yet, especially since I’m not using Outlook as my mail and calendar client these days. I really would love it if this device could sync calendar and contacts with Mozilla Thunderbird. Its not a dealbreaker though since I manage my contacts and calendar on my Samsung Blackjack when I’m on the go. I like the photo syncing mostly because the photos actually look good enough to show people on this device. And flipping through them with the touch screen is a really easy way to look at them. If there is one thing that I would to have added to the iPod Touch it would be a dedicated Google Maps application

Function
In general I think that the iPod Touch works really well. Its my first iPod so I can only compare it to the older iRiver audio player that I owned. The touch screen has worked well so far. Sometimes I have to touch something a second time to get it to activate, but that’s pretty rare. The only button on the device is an on/off button. So there’s a lot of sliding that takes place to adjust volume or skip around in media. People who want to manipulate the iPod Touch without looking will be sorely disappointed.

The internet features have been working well for me so far. You can connect to any WiFi hot spot and the Safari browser looks nice. The screen is too small to comfortably view most web pages, but you can zoom in easily by grasping the screen with your fingertips and spreading them apart. This isn’t the optimal way to browse the web but it works well for reading feeds and news. One continual bummer is the fact that the browser on the iPod Touch doesn’t support Adobe Flash. So you can’t view any objects coded in Flash. I do love being able to sit on my porch and just flip through news stories courtesy of my home office WiFi hotspot.

I had heard that you only got access to a small portion of YouTube via the iPod/iPhone interface. I did a little test and uploaded a video to my YouTube account yesterday. Then I was able to search for and play it with my iPod today. So it looks like Google has done a good job catching up. You can also bookmark YouTube videos on the iPod which is a feature I like and did not expect.

Value For The Money
I would love more storage on this thing. But at the same time I think the WiFi and other applications here that you can’t find on a regular iPod balance it out. The only shortcoming for the dollar you spend is the lack of a basic wall charger. I suspect that in the beginning of 2008 we will start seeing new models with more storage at the same price of less. As the people who bought an iPhone over the summer now know, there is a bit of a price for being an early adopter.

Bottom Line
I’m very happy with the iPod Touch. If you have tons of media you want to take with you then you are better off with a classic iPod with a huge hard drive. If you’ve recently bought another mobile media player you are happy with I would recommend waiting to buy an iPod Touch til the prices come down and the storage gets bigger. If you are ready for your next upgrade and want a true multimedia device to satiate your information as well as entertainment needs, then this is definitely the way to go

Note: Its also prone to jailbreaking and i did that within the 1st week of possession :-)

iPod Touch

Hell yess.. Apple recorded a good profit this quarter... do you know why??? well i know... picture this.. an indian comes to US and purchases the just launched iPod Touch, blows $ 300 + of his hard earned money , just to lissen to some crap songs, watch some crap videos and take back thie WiFi enabled device to india only to realize that the bandwidth sucks..It just happenned. Result - better result for Apple and they are rejoicing the 6th birth anniversary.

Holy crap.I just bought an iPod Touch... it looks clean and neat and i did that @ Apple store here. These guys simply know how to attract people. I could clearly see the glee on all the potential visitors face. I was LBW on a full toss. Actually i went in there to pick up a iPod shuffle and ended up buying this. I am still yet to realize its potential... But i better start liking it:-) atleast for the huge amount i shelled.

Virtual reality

Everyday I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive days I've stayed alive

Unix Directory Structure

The other day , one of my colleagues was running into issues understanding the linux dir structure. Looks like he had messed up his basics or was away technically for too long. So i took some time in explaining to him the structure. He was impressed and instantly i put this in a pic so that ppl can actually benefit from this...

Evolution of Swift

I was just browsing for some review of my new booked car -Suzuki Swift and i came across this pic. Sounded good to me and i thought i'd share. Wondering how many prototypes went in between before arriving at the final design. I am sure many heads would have been involved. But i guess that's the payoff when u see a lot of these cars on the roads...

Eternal truth

This is what i saw behind an AutoRik.. Could not resist taking a pic. Just wondering how much the Rik driver/owner would have felt the pain to have this written on his vehicle..Sometimes wondering, i think its more than true - the eternal truth... lucky i did;nt get exposed to this.. But i am sure watching a couple of my friends ruining thier life and career for some stupid girl who is misusing them.. Cheers to the Rik guy for sharing the "Eternal Truth"

Sport car in city

I love old cars for their performance. Well more than performance, you will have to admit that you can be a bit bold on your mods( read: modifications). You can tweak, customize and spend on old beauties making them look weirder than the new lot.Spotted today on Hosur road.....

Whilst driving to work today, i spotted this old premier padmini - fiat car, that was modded to a great extent..i tried to figure out the mods, but the traffic kept me away and guess what the car was speeding away..Anyway i got a chance to click a couple of pics before it went outa sight...Some noteable mods were - alloy wheels, F1 muffler, some paint designs, somw new kinda spoiler, sporty looking rear view mirrors, mods on top to look like corsa swing. To bad i could not see more...

Crazy week

It's been a crazy week for me so far.Long meetings at bad times. I have skipped my dinner 3 days in a row now, only to take these business calls.

It's not the call or skipping dinners thats bothering me now. What is bothering me one great inference i drew from all these day's err... night's meeting - "You don't need technology to move up, you need great communication skills, ability to talk on literally any topic, a great vocabulary and the commitment to drag any meeting to an additional few hours, not to forget the ability to use telephones to dial in conference numbers:-)" Now that i know how i can be a business leader with great acumen.....i can secretly vouch that the D day is not far... kudos to me. PS: The top management retained me to talk about the technology and operations review for the final presentation, knowing how imbecile they are :-)

psycho bitchiness at the best

She called in again,I did not take the call. She sent an sms, I did not respond. She sent me an email, I did not reply. I seriously do not understand, how on earth can anyone be so damn stupid as to not get the cue and leave me alone. I need my space!!!. Well @ the same time i also think how could anyone be so obsessed. She wanted to talk to me for one last time. I am not giving in.

I gave her a piece of my mind and warned her not to bother me again. And just in case she does not mend her ways, i drafted an email/letter for her, hope she drops by, reads it and then disappears,

Dear Sh*&^%$,

I just wanted to let you know that you have completely screwed my life. If you had half a brain you would be dangerous. I have had it up to here because you have manipulated me one too many times. I have often looked the other way, which makes me uncompassionate and unsympathetic.

This time you have taken your psycho bitchiness to the next level.

I have never shirked my responsibility to tell you that you are a bonehead loser. You would be so much better off if you would just lay off of the welfare and get a job. You must be emotionally immature. You are a CRAZY BITCH! It is time for you to get a new psychiatrist, preferably one that actually graduated. Let this also serve as notice that all future visits have been cancelled as the thought of seeing you gives me a panic attack.

Drop dead you piece of shit,

VJ

PS: Please do not reply back, this email address is dead. I need time to change all my phone numbers.

Bad Start

Got up today with a bad headache. A very bad at that. It was bad because it was paining from the tip of my nect to top of the head. This one puts you in a very bad mood as well. I had no mood to have my morning cup of tea or read the newspaper.

The pain was so bad that i could not have breakfast and left for office. I did not even switch on my music system, the traffic sound was killing. After reaching office , i expressed the pain to one of my collegues and he picked up a medicine for me. I had that and a cup of hot coffeee... voila its gone. Thanks to the medicine... but while i was writhling in pain , i wanted this chair so desperately... i guess the pain maked to halucinate:-)

Epitome of 21st century

I can't seem to start my day without atleast 15-30 mins of idle net surfing :-(. and i can't go to sleep without checking everyone of the sites that i am on for something updated.

More stress --- the number of emails in my inbox stresses me out, but i worry that if i delete that, i will loose something i may need. This fear has got me so down that i nearly have 12 Gb of emails in just 3 yrs of work @ this office.I am in Day 2 of dataone Broadband and it;s failed me... my telephone is dead. Guess these things will only foster my stress. I need my stress buster :-) ---- Wherez my Playstation????????? Looks like i am an epitome of --- "Living in the the 21st century".... and hey my team mate gave me a a book today - "Only love is real" by Dr.Brian Weiss :-) don;t know why.. who cares!!!!! i'll read and maybe share my review sometime...

Catch 22

I have been reading Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. In this novel pilots flying dangerous missions can seek exemption from duty if they can produce a medical evaluation that they are insane. But if a pilot asks for such an evaluation, he must be sane enough to know his condition. Now the catch is this: If you ask for an evaluation, you are sane and so you cannot claim exemption from flying duties. If you don’t ask, automatically you are taken to be sane and so must fly.. Too bad for a Catch 22 :-)

Am Excited:-)

.pǝʇıɔxǝ ɯɐ ı .s1ǝǝɥ ɹǝʌo pɐǝɥ. hehehe.. so trying to figure out what that was??? Well it's my state of mind - I am excited. head over heels. That's why the words have flipped ;-) A couple of things thats got me to this state - Internet & Car.
First the Internet- My much awaited BSNL dataone after a waiting period of 8 months.I got the connection. It's awesome. great speed. The plan id 900 plus ( unlimited).I was always a sucker for bandwith and i think this will quench me for sometime...I am not greedy , but just want the best always.I set up the UTStarcom ADSL router with my Linksys wireless router and now all my home is wireless.I just have to assign a static ip to my dad's laptop.Thats the only thing that's pending. But given BSNL's reputation, i hope i don't become its victim. Now the Car - I have narrowed down on Suzuki Swift Diesel, the high end version. I had a TD yesterday and i flipped again. The power, the torque and the stability the car offered has made me go ahead and book the car.I am making an advance payment today. The only fall is i whave to wait for 3 - 4 months, before my car gets deovered. I know the car won;t dissapoint me... as always i think - fruits of patience are always sweet ;-)

My teammate

The world is far more judgemental for it's own good. Talking about judgement, I am particularly impressed with one of my team mate. He is with me for nearly two years now and i hardly remember him doing something wrong. According to internet, today i have won 12 ipods, 6 laptops and 16 vacations.. I am feeling lucky and generous today and want to hand over these stuff to him.Maybe he will feel rewarded :-) hehehe..or he can continue with his good work and spread to brethren...as alice is asked to do:-)

Jokes apart, this guy has shown immense maturity for his role and responsibility. I guess, me writing about him in my blog shows that. Well done my boy, u deserve to be my star performer. A little bit of tweaks and maybe one day he will be on my same track.Nothing gives me more pleasure than to mentor someone & show them the shortcut to success:-) The industry is full of indolents ..so go there and get them :-) I think the bottomline here is "I hope he realizes just how lucky he is to have me. I realize how lucky i am to have him. We both are in high demand"

My life- My dilemma -yes that's me

My good old 800!!!

My good old maruthi 800 now needs some rest. She has serviced my dad for a long time, before taking care of me. She has been my GF for someone who has been lonely. She can zip past the traffic hotspots better than any one. Alas, i have been spending quite a bit on her lately and that's trigerring my thoughts of giving her a much deserved rest.

A year ago i had a complete new look for her, sparkling shine, made her taller by unwinding the shocks, changed the muffler to compete with her male counterparts( read Ferrari), made some changes to seat, Added Sony Xplod Speakers, changed the steering to a smaller one and also added a manual power steering to grip her better.
Ain;t she a beauty??? Well now what's paining me is my team guys are one helluva guys... they literally rape this beauty everytime we go out on luch and this has increased my maitainence cost. I just left her in garage for servicing and the mechanic told me that its gonna cost 5K to bring the beauty back to shape... It pains.. but i guess i will have to bear it till i plan for a new car.
"The thing of beauty is a joy forever"

Thought @ speed of light

There is so much going around me that i definetly need to take time out and compile them. It's been quite some time that i updated my blog. And i am lying.. no its not that i was busy, it's because my congenial disease called laziness was getting stronger...

Goal-less aggression

I have so many options for things i could do in my life, yet none of them seem appealing. I guess,I am having a hard time keeping my passive-agressiveness in check..

I hate you!!!

Why does she want to talk to me, when i absolutely don;t want to talk to her??? Does she not get the cue - I do not respond to sms, calls & email's. I hate the sight of her face.Yet she pesters me. I would be more than happy if she died on spot. Can;t she direct her energies to something more productive. Adopt a pet , join a vocation class... but leave me alone.... I HATE HER....&& don;t want to have anything in common.

ITGFS girls???

aren't there any intelligent, talented, gorgeous, funny, successful girls ANYWHERE? Well i am not the one whos demanding that.. my mom is :-) so all the girls who are that... comment pls..

PG finally!!!

Boy o Boy, there is something about getting your degree certificates through post. It's always heartning to see that your years of hard work reaped and for you to see on a day when u are dead tired. All the lost energy is regained.

I just completed my MS from BITS and yesterday was the day when the beautiful package arrived.I had least expected it as i thought it would take some more time. No news of the dispatch in web site or on the forum. But all's well that ends well. BTB i still remember that awful day when two uncommon friends made a imprompto palm reading and predicted that i would not study further.. like they knew anything. How i wish i meet them again and show them my new achievement. Lesson learnt - Don;t show your palm to any TOm, Dick & Harry for knowing your *future*.I think i know where i belong....

Whats your hour rate?

Figure out how much your hourly rate translates into per year, or how much you make per hour from your annual salary.

To find your annual salary, just take your hourly rate, double it, and add a thousand to the end. If you make Rs 200/hour, you make approximately Rs 400000. If you make Rs 300/hour, you make approximately Rs 600000/year.This also works in reverse. To find your hourly rate, divide by two and drop the thousand. So Rs 500000/year becomes approximately Rs 250/hour.This is based on a general 40-hour workweek and doesn’t include taxes, but it’s a good general back-of-the-napkin trick
. Or there is an easier way.. you tell me what your salary is, and i shall compute for you :-)

Overconfidence or arrogance?

I have been enjoying a good run now. Two accolades from our otherwise stingy customer and all in a span of 3 days:-) That's an achievement. And all the ways good review about me to my boss. So today my boss asked me what 's my greatest accomplishment. I said, Being me, and then walked away... Overconfidence or arrogance?. Let's call it attitude for now!!!! Leave me a comments if you thing otherwise :-)

My Bed!!!

My bed was made to fit just me.
Am I meant to be alone?
But then... I chose it.
I don't like my decisions.
I don't like my bed.
It was heaven once.......

Confessions!!!

I go to the doctor for every little scrape, because my doctor is effing hot and I like the way her hands move on me, even if it is on the ouchie parts......

Sucess Mantras

Here is my trick on how to look busy at work, create a BMP of an excel-sheet and put it as screen-saver. It must have a lot of numbers and stuff. Put screen-saver time to 30 seconds...
What am i doing now???? ->>>> creating that BMP :-)

Amused or Disgusted!!!

I think my co-worker has a crush on another co-worker 'cause he makes fun of her like 5th grade boys make fun of 5th grade girls they like. I can't figure out if I'm amused by it or disgusted...

6 sixes in an over

First there was Sir. Gary Sobers, then it was Ravi Shastri. Well before you tell me its Gibbs now. I beg to differ. It was the summer of '2k. We were back for semester holidays.

Thats when we decided that we kick off our cricket practice. Mind you we really had a good team and won many tournaments. And offcourse we played daily at our park. Sometime bet on money.I can list the various kinds of betting but i am here to tell you that 6 sixes in an over, is a feat which i achieved during that time. Anil , our team's fastest bowler had a brawl with me, that he has learnt the art of reverse swing. I was not convinced. So he challenged me and i accepted that. While he rolled his arms over, i freed my arms. All 6 balls, i struck 6 sixes continuously each better than the previous one.Everyone looked in awe, just like when Gibbs was belting. But i would still consider, my effort better than him - simply because all my sixes were straight ones. Atleast Gibbs had the option of belting the sixes anywhere!!! Does this make me the best???

Patience my virtue!!!

I am getting real impatient now.I spoke to her yesterday and told her that we could continue talking on messenger today. She is not yet online. :-(

I came in early today, rushed through my tasks only to make sure that i can have an uninterupted chat, but then she never turned up. She sure has a terrific memory , so i can;t even assume that she has forgotten.I can;t email even though i have her email, can;t call or sms even though i have her cell.....But yipeeeee, god's on my side!!! while i am rambling, shez come online.. so byeee for now!!!

Thanks Mom!!!. This year I can claim to be perfect :-)

Old habits die hard

Yes i do remember, some time back i blogged here on how i was excited of going to GYM and trying hard to be regular. But now i am very proud :-) why? coz i have got to old habits of not being regular at anything... I think this is a real old habit and dates to my class 11th . The last time i was regular to class was in 10th.

I hardly attended the classes in 11th ( courtesy World Cup cricket). To think about it I even got a telegram from college for being irregular and my name being struck out of rolls and that i would neeed to take the exams as a private student. Just imagine my father's face when he saw that telegram and by the by, my boss is an ex-army dude. The saga continued into 12th. And just when i thought i shuld end this, engineering happened.Who goes to engg college to learn from a bunch of dolts who could not make it into the world and happen to be there because of thier bad luck :-).So i flushed 4 years in drain and spending time in canteen, TOM's ( Temple of movies),library ( not for studying) and ofcourse hostel rooms :-). Then tried to be regular atleast for my Masters - fell thud- did not attend a single contact class, not a single online class and yes i still haven't opened the answer scripts that were sent to me after evaluation( always believed that i got more than i deserved). So hold it there, as i am not regular to office also :-) and try to work from home when ever possible. So what's new???? I just joined YOGA ;-)

Angles & Demons

I finished Angels And Demons by Dan Brown the other night.  This book rocks as a recreational read!  This is by the same author as The DaVinci Code, and it looks like it was a previous work that was re-released after the success of Code.

Symbologist Robert Langdon gets an early morning call from a person in Switzerland claiming to have a dead body with an Illuminati brand on his chest.  The caller turns out to be the head of CERN, and he's concerned about the Illuminati cult that everyone thought was dead.  Langdon ends up in Switzerland to lend his expertise in the symbol, and from there is rushed to the Vatican when a massive explosive anti-matter device is stolen from CERN and is set to blow up the ancient seat of the Catholic church.  A dead pope, kidnapped cardinals turning up branded and dead, an ancient secret society that everyone thought was extinct, and a countdown to finding and stopping the explosion.  On top of that, the plot starts twisting at breakneck speed in the last 100 pages.

This is a book I could have easily plowed straight through and been perfectly happy in doing so.  The pace of the story never slowed down, and the turns at the end weren't quite what I expected them to be.  I wasn't highly thrilled with The DaVinci Code, as it went off in some theological directions I didn't care much for.  And I also felt it was the author espousing his beliefs in novel form and pounding the reader over the head about them repeatedly.  This book is more a crime/conspiracy novel set in the Vatican, but not so heavy on alternative theology.

Definitely one of the better recreational reads of late...

Make websites go crazy

Here's what you need to do to make websites go crazy.I tried it with a couple of websites and it worked. Some serious fun there.

1.Go to Google.com

2.Remove everything from the address bar, then copy & paste the following into it:

javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.images; DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style; DIS.position='absolute'; DIS.left=Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5; DIS.top=Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5}R++}setInterval('A()',5); void(0);

3.Hit enter.

4.Enjoy.
Look carefully, a lot of maths involved here ;-).

Attitude is everything

Attitude makes all the difference in our lives.
There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
"Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today?"
So she did and she had a wonderful day.The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. "H-M-M," she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?"
So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
"Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."
So she did and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
"YEA!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"

Attitude is everything. I know i will have these days soon. But i guess i have mended my atitude like the lady.Gonna shave it all:-)

Wasted in College!!!

Engineering College is basically a bunch of rooms where you sit for roughly two thousand hours and try to memorize things. The two thousand hours are spread out over four years; you spend the rest of the time sleeping and trying to get dates.

Basically, you learn two kinds of things in college:

1. Things you will need to know in later life (two hours).
2. Things you will not need to know in later life (1,998 hours). These are the things you learn in classes whose names end in -istor, -bes, -istry, -ics, and so on. The idea is, you memorize these things, then write them down in little exam books, then forget them. If you fail to forget them, you become a professor and have to stay in college for the rest of your life.

It's very difficult to forget everything. For example, when I was in college, I had to memorize -- don't ask me why -- the types of television systems we have in the world. I have managed to forget one of them, but I still remember that the other two were named NTSC and PAL. Sometimes, when I'm watching tv, either at my place or a friends place, i wonder which TV system it is. It's a terrible waste of brain cells.

After you've been through college you can do your masters :-) which is the subject you intend to memorize and forget the most things about. Here is a very important piece of advice: be sure to do a masters that does not involve Known Facts and Right Answers. This means you must not major in compuers, mathematics, physics, biology, or chemistry, because these subjects involve actual facts. If, for example, you major in mathematics, you're going to wander into class one day and the professor will say: "Define the cosine integer of the quadrant of a rhomboid binary axis, and extrapolate your result to five significant vertices." If you don't come up with exactly the answer the professor has in mind, you fail. The same is true of chemistry: if you write in your exam book that carbon and hydrogen combine to form oak, your professor will flunk you. He wants you to come up with the same answer he and all the other chemists have agreed on.

Scientists are extremely snotty about this.

So you should major in subjects like English, philosophy, psychology, and sociology -- subjects in which nobody really understands what anybody else is talking about, and which involve virtually no actual facts. But then no one else helped me giving gyan the way i do, so i ended up doing Masters in Software Sytems- what a waste of life!!!

PS addiction

OOh aaah ouch !!! I can't move my hand ! Even my fingers are protesting as I type. Coz all I've been doin` is playing Playstation games on my kick ass TV ! My friends are all having their minutes of fun, havin` a good laugh at me ! But i had my last laugh when they came over to my place and I just turned on a PS2 game - Soul Calibur.. NOW, its them, they are more hooked to that gaming device than me. All day long they call and ask me what time i am back home from work, so that they can play the game.

Getting stressed out at work is normal, but playing a good game of Tennis or Soul Calibur or even mortal kombat is even more stressfull. Its the stress that you would love. I have started t o have a good collection of games now. Smash court Tennis,Gun, Call of duty, Final Fantasy XII, Need for Speed - carbon, Unreal tournament( downloaded from Torrents), Tom clancy's splinter cell,Black( reversed engineered from another DVD),Beach volleyball, Cricket 2007, FiFa 2007, Combat Elite, Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas, Gran Turismo - 3, Top Spin, Sega games collection, God Of war, Soul Calibur, Mortak Komat- Armageddon - these are some i regularly play and can think of now. Trust me, all you need is one game and your are hooked... I am off now home, to play a few more and become the undisputed one.

Fathomless Genius?

On Aug. 11, 1966, a fishing boat came upon a badly bruised man floating in the water off Brest, France, clutching an inflatable life raft. He identified himself as Josef Papp, a Hungarian-Canadian engineer, and claimed he had just bailed out of a jet-powered submarine that had crossed the Atlantic in 13 hours

The media laughed at this, but Papp insisted he had built a cone-shaped sub in his garage that could reach 300 mph using the same principle as a supercavitating torpedo. He even wrote a book, The Fastest Submarine, to answer his critics … but somehow this failed to explain how the sub worked, or why plane tickets to France had been found in his pocket, or why a man matching his description had been seen boarding a plane to France hours earlier.

For what it's worth, Papp did patent a number of other inventions, including a fuel mixture composed from inert noble gases. So maybe he was telling the truth

The Chernobyl Design Pattern

I have done this a lot in the past, but the only thing that was missing was the name. Infact this technique was the one that catapulted my career. It just required some logical thinking and some one to put this into practice. I was thrilled when i stumbled onto this article.. Heheh .. Now i am taking this to the new level, by just giving the link. But just in case you don't have the time to read the whole stuff, here is the funda - "Take your worst bug, the ugliest part of your code, the part that is so bad, so radioactive that no one can touch it without getting killed, and you make it private and inaccessible, and put a new interface around it, essentially entomb it in concrete so that no one can get close to it. In other words, if you can't fix it, at least contain the damage."

This is effectively explained using Intel and Microsoft as the subject. Thier stratergies and what they adopted to be numero uno in this undaunted world. You can read more here. Rob has done an excellent work in coining a very good name for it :-)

Global warming and now global dimming!

Knew all about the green houses and global warming but saw a program recently about global dimming. For those that don't know what it is, the carbon pollutants from burning the likes of gas and petrol emits small carbon particles, these then rise and sit in the upper atmosphere. These particles are actually smaller then the normal particles that would sit and attract water droplets which in turn would forms clouds. The result is that there are far more smaller water droplets forming the clouds, these in turn reflect more of the suns light back into space hence the term global dimming.

Global dimming has in effect been countering global warming but recent changes in emmission laws around the world has meant that global dimming is now receding due to the use of catalytic converters in cars and more filtering of carbon emmissions.
Net result is that all the theories in global warming have not taken global dimming into account and the experts reckon that by 2040 there could be dramatic changes (rises) in the earths average temperature resulting in the Greenland ice caps starting to melt, once this starts there's no going back and things will just continue to spiral out of control.
I suppose if you look hard enough you can find all sorts of doom and gloom stories but there's not a lot the average person can really do but what sort of future is there for the children?
There's no moral to the story but what have I done as an individual? Well I now only use my car when I really need it, walk most places, try to work from home as far as possible rather then drive in and changed most of the bulbs in the house.

Bush hid the facts - a bug????

For those of you using Windows, do the following:

1.) Open an empty notepad file
2.) Type “Bush hid the facts” (without the quotes)
3.) Save it as whatever you want.
4.) Close it, and re-open it.
Is it just a really weird bug???

Most people think it’s a Windows Notepad easter egg (I thought so myself, to be honest), but in fact, it isn’t. It’s just a lousy Notepad bug. Let me explain…
I was myself curious about the cause of this phenomenon, and I found out that this text is not the only one to cause problems. There are other strings that cause Notepad to screw up, including “this app can break”, which was another version of the bug that generated a lot of buzz. I’ve personally tested a series of strings that have the same effect, including “this api can break”, “this cat can split”, “jane can not dance”, “text wit hou tcaps” and even “abcd efg hij klmno” and “xxxx xxx xxx xxxxx”. What do these phrases have in common? They are made up by four words made up by four, three, three and five letters, all lowercase. So, by induction, all “4-3-3-5″ strings should work.
Now, let’s get to why this thing happens. First of all, it seems that Notepad writes the files just fine, it just can’t read them again correctly. As a proof, try opening your saved file, the one that Notepad screws up, with another text editor. I used EditPlus and it turned out to be OK. So why the Notepad thing then? Well, it’s a Windows thing. Notepad uses a Windows function that allows it to figure out whether a text file is Unicode or not. And that function, my friends, is the one that screws it up. Because the way it checks can easily be described as “guessing”. And it guesses that the file is actually Unicode, and not Ascii, as it is supposed to be.
Now, two different but similar explanations can be given.
The first is that, after the ASCII-to-hex conversion of the string, Notepad rearranges the hex codes not according to ASCII standards, but to Unicode, and that messes it up. Here’s the example:
Take “bush hid the facts”. The hex codes (they can be seen with any hex editor you want to download) for the string are:
62 75 73 68 20 68 69 64 20 74 68 65 20 66 61 63 74 73
Arrange the codes to make up Unicode characters and you get:
7562 6873 6820 6964 7420 6568 6620 6163 7473
You’ll notice that every code is hyperlinked. If you click on each one of them, you’ll see that each one represents a Chinese (I think) “letter”.
So this whole thing’s cause is the coincidence that the 18 ASCII characters happen to represent 9 Unicode characters. And, of course, Windows’ inability to determine the right encoding of the file.
The second explanation is slightly different, but the basics are the same: the difference between ASCII and Unicode. It’s just a matter of Notepad defaults. You see, when you save the file, in the “Encoding” field, the default drop-down is set to ANSI. So, by default, Notepad saves as ANSI. But if you do a File -> Open, the default Encoding is set to Unicode. That’s exactly what happens when you double click a saved file. Notepad knows the path, but not the Encoding. So it uses the default Unicode encoding, which spits the Chinese characters as explained above.
And that’s about it. No easter eggs, no conspiracies, no Bush interventions. Just plain old Microsoft

Secret Single Behaviour!!!

Anyone who is a devout fan of Sex and the City already knows what Iam referring to, although the term itself is pretty self-explanatory. The key to an SSB, your Secret Single Behavior, is that it is something you do indulgently and exclusively when alone because the presence of another person, especially a girl and extra-especially a girlfriend, ruins it because it makes you self-conscious about your utterly bizarre behavior.

Here are some common examples of SSBs:
1.Dancing by yourself in your underwear when there's no music playing
2.Singing loudly to the radio with the window down in spite of your truly wretched singing voice (extra coolness points if the crazy screaming mofo on the median stops to look at you).
3.Eating your entire dinner over the sink so you don't have to do any dishes (BRILLIANCE)
4.Taking a late shower, and smelling yourself all through the day..
5.Locking the dogs out of the room & mastrubating for 45 mins continuously:-) & reaching office 20 mins late. Heheheheh i have had people tell me this boosts thier morale.
6.Browsing porn in office.
7.Walking around the house wearing nothing but Superman/Superwoman underpants.
8.Working on the laptop while in the restroom.
c'mon readers tell me whats yours ??

Underperforming Men In Blue

The selectors have given Sehwag too many chances.Drop Sehwag, I would be gutted if they pick him for the series against West Indies and Sri Lanka. IMO, ideally I'd want to see Ganguly opening again with Tendulkar like the old times from the mid-1990s; Sachin and Saurav used to be the most feared pair in ODI Cricket before Sehwag even made his debut. And another thing is that they need to look at Dinesh Karthik as a specialist batter. Just wonder if they put half the effort to improve his batting skills then they have worked on Pathan, Karthik seems to have the confidence and the ability to go a long way

And come on, somebody have a word with Sachin Tendulkar. Wtf has happened to him? Watching him bat last night, it felt like he didn't want to be there, he didn't show the stomach to fight and his injury is no excuse. Once a great, most feared batsmen has now become India's most unreliable player. I just cant't believe it. Just wonder what it is that's holding him back, and I feel he'll come to his natural best if he opens with Ganguly in ODIs. He just doesn't get the freedom and is forced to played too responsibly in partnership with Sehwag. That's not him, Tendulkar has never given a livin' f*ck about playing second fiddle, he used to own every partnership which is not the case anymore.
It's never been about ability with India, it has always been about self-belief and desire. This last test match was about who wanted to win the most. South Africa have grabbed this test from India's throat because they showed the desire and they deserved to win, fair and square.

Happy Feet

I am a happy feet now. The day's ended really well today.Just when i was in training a mail popped in my inbox - "10 yrs multiple entry B1/B2 visa granted". I ran out of the training to collect my passport

I guess it would not have been so dramatic, the only masala weilding stuff was that i had been refused visa twice before. oh!!! that was for F1, student visa. But i guess its all leveled now - 2 refusals & 2 grants :-)

The saga continues

I have been contemplating enough now.Other wise how else can you explain this - I sat by the beach to analyse myself, to asses what i have achieved so far in my life and it looks like more plus than minus :-) i am including the plus in my weight also.

Actually, i really did not want to take the appointment with the US visa consulate, this year.Unfortunately my MS results toook some time to come by and I did not want to apply without my MS degree.I had a valid reason though - my earlier student visa was rejected.Atleast i did not want to start a year with rejections. So with a real heavy heart, I proceeded to the consulate.. And guess what.. i think this year has really begun well ...as i told u ... a paid day off on new year, a new project to handle, part of food committee , member of CoE and now Visa...Am i pushing a bit hard on my luck ??? i don;t want to end this luck run !!!

Alternative profession

Some time back, i blogged about how frustrating my current job is getting. No, I am not frustated about not achieving my goals, Infact i am overachiving, but maybe i am not enjoying.Untill I found out that i hardly have anyone to tell :-) I miss my bheema. I am sure he would not understand a thing. But he would listen to them all. After all i would feed him his biscuits :-)

So here I was, wondering how to push my weekends, then this brilliant idea struck me!!!I decided to podcast.I downloaded this software - Mixcraft , which is really good. I then spoke about managing teams and some pointers on how to motivate teams. They were based on my experience & to help you understand - its been close to 3 years now, current team strength is 22 & i haven't had a single attrition..It's a achievement by its own, given the current market trend...So watch out , I am planning to post some feeds for you..Do listen and give me feedback.Atleast now i have a profession i like :-)

Are Bloggers the Person Or the Fool of the Year?

It depends on what you read. According to the Time magazine, people posting user-created content online are its "Person of the Year." Surprisingly (or not), a Wall Street Journal editorial calls the same people "fools": "The Blog Mob. "Written by fools to be read by imbeciles."

Who is right? I write a blog, so I am biased... Although I cannot speak of my own intelligence, many bloggers I read daily are some of the smartest people you can find. I think the Wall Street Journal got this one wrong.

New year Bash!!!

Well, we have been quite notorious and also adventureous in our new year bashes, considering our history - at dhabas, at terrace tops, friends home, discos's, On road, in Parks ,you name it and we are sure, we had a bash there

So this time we decided to do something more outrageous :-) Play Ps2 games all through the nite.... This was a great idea to start with as Thiru was supportive, but when phani and prasadi decided to drop in, they threatned to kill us.They just wanted to booze all night and watch i dunno what on my kick ass TV. But we were on a roll and managed to sneak and play a few games, while these guys were on a high. We had some kababs, rolls, chips, chicken biryani, coke and some greens. Unfortunately too much time went in chatting , catching up with old friends and other stuff, that we were too full by the time we had dinner. Result - wasted food again :-)It was early morning that we decided to hit bed, and no one had sleep. So here i Was sleep all of monday :-) & just to show how we chilled, i will upload some pics for ya....

Happy New Year - 2007

Happy new Year :-) 2006 was very eventful,I hope 2007 delivers the same, if not more :-)

Looks like it started on a nice note.I was on vacation on monday and all of the sudden our client decided to give us a paid holiday on monday :-) a token of appreciation to our good work :-)

Trip to Munnar errr Wayanad - 4

Sunday - We had to decide how many days to stay here now, return the same day or the next

Eventually everyone debated and we came to a conclusion that we visit the kurvadweep island and head to mysore and probably , if time permits we could do some sight seeing there. after a so called good break fast, we left to the island. The island was awesome, and we really enjoyed the clear cool water in the scenic environment. We could have spent a whole day here though. But the call for home was stronger. So left the place by after noon , in a hope that we would reach pandavpura by dinner. We had a friend's uncle's military hotel to feed us.At around 8 we reached the military hotel, it was awesome and we cherished all the varities and everyone was too tired to talk.We reached bangalore at 12.30 and had a good sleep!!!

Just one pic for ya -

Trip to Munnar errr Wayanad - 3

Saturday - At about 6.00 am we reached the sultan bathery check post and our driver ran with his documents to commercial check post to get a clearance.

While he was gone we slowly got down out of our TT, only to realize that we were in Queue. I mean... many ppl had chosed wayanad as thier holiday destination. We caught up sith some college girls and guys who were busy smoking and enjoying thier chai. After we got the clearance we moved in search of a hotel, where we could clean ourselves up. I guess this was a planned trip, coz we never got a place to stay :-) every hotel turned us down, seeing the hooligan in us :-). With great difficulty we managed to get a cheap room and we rented 2 of them. 4 in each. Some of the speciality of the room was - No flush in the loo, No hot water for bath, Just one electrical outlet to charge any of your electronic devices, No rug and ....No amount of begging pleading or even offerring money could get us hot water for the bath. Some how each one managed to take bath in the super cold water and still manage to stay warm:-) I guess we were still high on spirits..We went to a nearby India Coffee house in hope that we would get some neat nice food. Unfortunately, you know the drill - coconut oil fried items which only double screws your appetite. We then went off to the edkal caves - Man , no one quite told me that it was trekking place, armed with a cheap chappal i went with them. I felt too cheated even to complain. I had sore feet. The trek was really cool, if you are fit and one thing is for sure, it really showed me how fit I am and i need to work out double now. hehehe.. not that i am working out now. With great difficulty we reached the top.Wow what a panaromic view.It was awesome and i forgot all the pain after reaching there. It took us more than a hour to get there, as we stopped here and there for our lousy photographer to click a few snaps, which i intend to upload and also to help the needy girls, who were equally enthusiatic to reach the peak :-) We spent a solid time up there and decided to desend before it got late, out mantra was not to miss the next spot :-) the soochipoora falls :-)Once we got down, we were so dehydrated that we decided to have tender coconut rather than lunch. Also it was almost 4 when we got down.We gulped the cool, sweet tender coconut and tried to recover the lost staminaOnce back to our Van, we headed straight to soochipoora falls, Man the ppl of kerala are really hostile and when asked for directions, they really showed that they don;t entertain tourism. We almost covered 30 kms in the opposite direction, until a kind samatarian s showed the correct route.Soochipoora falls was beautiful, it had a nice water fall and on the otherside a panoramic view against the mountain. We managed to watch both. But beware, do not plan both edkal caves and soochipoora falls on the same day. Soochipoora falls is reverse edkal caves :-) what i mean is , when u start moving, its easy but since we go down here, it gets really tought to get back :-) After hitting the road, we headed straight to a so called good hotel for our dinner, the boys were as hungry as they could be and the ultimate greed of mouth over stomach prevailed and we ordered food like there is no tomorrow and wasted them all. The bill was high, probably the highest ever made in that hotel :-) As we were all tired the moment we hit the bed, we were like snoring :-) in spite of aching body.

Trip to Munnar errr Wayanad - 2

Friday - We left bangalore at about 11.00 am and hardly had we made progress , when some one dropped a boulder :-)

Instead of the planned 12 ppl only 8 were making it. So to adjust this change in ppl, our team lead Raghu changed the destination. His thoughts - Wayanad was nearer than Munnar, Wayanad had beautiful places, we would save time and money :-). I wanted a break so i gave a damn about Wayanad or Munnar. All shouted in unison and off we changed track heading to Mysore - > Gundulpet-->Sultan Bathery. Our poor TT driver was lost in direction but not in spirits, so we enquired all along to reach our destination. We stopped at a dabba on Mysore road and had our dinner. It was more like our drinks session, with everyone rolicking with the alcohol consumed. It was soooo cold that we had to get out sweaters and jackets out. The guys were pretty high on drinks and one of them wanted to play antakshari :-) I was least bothered, i can't sing, i can't remember lyrics :-) So i just sat back to enjoy the audio session.God.... at some point i felt like kicking some ppl out of the TT unable to bear thier cacophony.

Trip to Munnar errr Wayanad - 1

It all started at a booze party, like it always does.

Trust me all the meaning full conversations take place at booze parties( read at the time of ordering the drinks and not after that). For some reasons i had not joined the team on thier previous outings, so this time they insisted me to choose a date and me not miss it. At about the same time my team had planned for an outing:-) and the same date was looking omnious. Neverthless i made a very bold decision and preferred to go my adda boys rather than my project team....So our preparation began.Atleast on paper :-) Raghu booked a Tempo traveller(TT) and that was a milestone in our preparation as no other issue was taken care of.We planned to leave bangalore on Friday and be back on Monday.Things always look rosy at the time of planning.I had a hectic week and sure enough i just made in time for the TT. All the boys were geared up for the day.
